Sorry page not found  L error 404

This customized personalized error 404 page was made by creating and uploading a page called error404.htm or similar to my root website folder


Then i added this green line of text to my .htaccess   file (also in root website folder)
ErrorDocument 404 /error404.htm

If you dont have a .htaccess file then create a text document with the line of green code in and then when you save it, make sure you change the file extension to all..
Then rename the file  .htaccess
(yes just the dot with nothing else)

You can also redirect other errors using your my .htaccess  file
example error 403 redirecting to the same error 404 page you have made would read
ErrorDocument 403 /error404.htm
